Alaska - Inside Passage
Celebrity Eclipse
August 2022

Janelle and I were able to go on a much-needed vacation to Alaska. We were fortunate to get a good deal on Celebrity Cruises and enjoyed the sights and sounds of America's Final Frontier.

Our first site was Hubbard Glacier. Such an incredible location. Our captain got us within 50 yards of the glacier.

We then docked at Juneau and took a tour to see Mendenhall Glacier. The visitor center showed what the glacier looked like a hundred years ago and the receding lines since the glacier was first documented.

After Mendenhall, the tour took us to a botanical garden. This garden was the idea of a local man who took a mud/rock slide location and turned it into multiple acres of beautiful plants and waterways.

Our ship did have a hot glass studio onboard and we were able to make a beautiful vase (for an additional cost). Celebrity (which is the only cruise line) only has three ships with this studio onboard so we were very fortunate to have this capability.

Due to an unfortunate labor strike in Vancouver, we had to change our itinerary to only have two ports of call. Luckily, we were able to see a lot during our available time. Our tour in Ketchikan took us to see a local Native Indian town with totem pole carvings and then we came back into town to catch the Lumberjack Show. Janelle and I had a great time!
